Year 3

Welcome to Year 3!

Year Three is part of the ‘Lower Phase’ in our school. Mrs Jacoby is the phase leader for Year 3 and her role is to support the staff, children and families. Moving from Year 2 to Year 3 is an exciting transition into KS2. The children will be immersed into our Year 3 topics: Meet the Greeks, Food Glorious Food and Across the Ages. These topics offer fantastic learning opportunities such as a brilliant outdoor learning trip to Bishop's Wood. Children also start learning French and taking swimming lessons!

As well as the great academic opportunities, Year 3 is all about encouraging the children to become increasingly independent and confident. As part of this move up into KS2, we expect children to come into school by themselves, walking from the gate to their classroom in the morning, and walking to the gate from their classroom at the end of the day. The children in Key Stage 2 no longer receive free fruit, so they are encouraged to bring in fruit or vegetables to eat at playtime.
