Headteacher
After graduating from The University of Leeds with a BEd Honours degree in English, I began my teaching career in Newcastle for a short period, before moving to my home town of Redcar in the North East of England to continue teaching. My career path quickly moved in 1987, when I relocated to Coventry, bringing my north eastern luck with me, to enable Coventry football club to win the FA cup just as I arrived! After getting married to my husband who has lived in Coventry all his life, we set up home and raised our two sons in his incredible city. Upon embarking on this exciting new adventure, I joined Manor Park as a young teacher and have never left! My two sons attended Manor Park whilst I worked in the school as a teacher, a headteacher, assistant headteacher and deputy headteacher before becoming headteacher in January 2014, initially as acting headteacher then into the substantive post in September 2014. I am proud and honoured to be the headteacher of this wonderful school and feel privileged to work with such a strong team of dedicated staff, governors and supportive parents and families. I am absolutely committed to giving our amazing children the very best education and life chances that we possibly can and to continue to build on the very strong reputation that the school has in the community. |
