SAFEGUARDING ━━━

Safe. Heard. Valued.
Protected.

At Manor Park Primary School, the safety and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority. We believe that every child has the right to feel safe, to be listened to, to be treated with respect and to learn in a secure and nurturing environment.

How we keep children safe

♡

A Safe and Supportive Environment

We provide a caring and inclusive environment where children feel safe, valued and able to talk to trusted adults.

!

Recognising and Responding to Concerns

We are alert to signs that a child may be at risk of harm and act quickly and appropriately to protect children.

▣

Online Safety

We teach children how to stay safe online and work with families to support positive and safe use of technology.

♧

Working in Partnership

We work closely with parents, carers and external agencies to ensure the best possible support for children and families.

Early Help, Families First & Inclusion

At Manor Park, we work in partnership with Coventry City Council and other local services as part of the Families First approach. Our aim is to identify emerging needs early, listen to families and work together to provide the right help at the right time.

Families First brings together early help and safeguarding services so that families can receive coordinated support. This includes the Coventry Children FIRST team. Our Inclusion and Pastoral Team, Learning Mentors and SENCo work closely with children and families to provide advice, emotional wellbeing support and access to additional services where needed, including support with attendance, behaviour, family circumstances and SEND.

We want children and families to feel comfortable asking for help before difficulties become more serious.

Further Safeguarding Resources

Additional information about keeping children safe and accessing support.

Prevent and protecting children from extremism
Prevent is part of safeguarding and aims to protect people from being drawn into terrorism. You can find information and guidance through the government's Prevent duty guidance. If you are concerned about a child, contact the school's safeguarding team.
Child exploitation and online harm
Children can be at risk of exploitation both online and offline. The NSPCC provides information about exploitation, while CEOP provides advice and a way to report online sexual abuse concerns. In an emergency, call 999.
Domestic abuse and Operation Encompass
Operation Encompass supports communication between the police and schools following domestic abuse incidents, so appropriate support can be offered to children. Read our Operation Encompass information letter.
